(Reuters) – Loss-making mobile chip venture ST-Ericsson delayed a scheduled ”before market open” strategy announcement on Monday to the afternoon.
The delay was caused by a ”technical reason” a spokeswoman said, without elaborating.
The announcement is expected to include site closures and job cuts and could include seeking a partner for application processors.
Sony said Wednesday it had suspended 93,000 accounts on its online networks after detecting a large amount of unauthorised sign-in attempts months after a massive data breach.
The attempts took place between October 7 and 10 and succeeded in verifying valid sign-in IDs and passwords of about 93,000 accounts on its PlayStation Network, Sony Entertainment Network and Sony Online Entertainment services.
TOKYO (AP) — Sony is launching a head mounted display that provides a three dimensional theater of music videos, movies and games.
Sony Corp. showed the 60,000 yen ($800) “HMZ personal 3-D viewer” Wednesday. The machine is set to go on sale Nov. 11 in Japan, and is planned for the U.S. and Europe, perhaps in time for Christmas, although dates have not yet been set.
