Pure as Sensia

11

It may sound pure enough but don’t be fooled by the name itself. Pure Sensia isn’t that absolutely pure but rather too ambitious when it comes to web radio. Ambitious enough, that it is creating a new gadget category that is both a hybrid between a clock radio and a computer bringing both that is fun and exciting to consumers. Instead of giving users access to many web internet stations around the world, Pure Sensia uses mobile phone application to show small slideshows of your photos in Picassa goodness all within its colorful touchscreen. It will help you scroll down your entire music collection wirelessly from your computer and also give you live weather reports. Not only that it will also show you live Twitter updates and Facebook feeds allowing you to stay connected and updated all the time all with the use of its soft keyboard.

The physical design of the Sensia is downright retro chic with a little bit of chrome finish with a screensaver that, in standby mode shows a representation of a clock. But behind that ball of pure simplicity lies the true power and functionality of this solid device. It is all made possible to the use of Pure’s own processor, a wireless broadband connection and nifty software that keeps everything under wraps. It comes with a 5.7 inch touch screen display to help you navigate through the menus.

Streaming music from your PC or Mac is as easy as it can gets. AS long as your library is DRM-free you can easily set it up for sharing and search your entire Jurassic media, with all the album artwork and the like.

The speakers are not half that bad, and of course the biggest main attraction would be the enormous screen. The Pure Sensia has its many useful functions just about everything you always want from that simple radio.

Nokia’s new Iphone Killer

After several months of waiting the new Nokia N96 has finally arrived at our local stores. The challenge is that the arrival of the N96 has made it a clear warning to other rival phone makers a run for their money. It made other competitors to innovate and accept the challenge to make gadgets better and more superb than the existing ones in the market.

With the current launch of Nokia’s N96, Apple now has a challenger to face with. They say that the N96 is surely an Iphone killer but would it stand out and do so? The N96 promised to be full of software upgrades and has the looks that can make even the geekiest nerd drool over. Its physical appearance is superb considering the slick and vibrant finish it has.

When you first look at the N96 it has a unique appearance compared to its predecessors. The first thing you should notice about the device is that it has some smooth curves along the edges unlike its previous predecessors that sports a candy bar approach. Nokia even tried to also smoothen up the face of the N95 by totally leveling the entire device; almost, there are no raised buttons present.

When it comes to internal memory the N96 now has a total of 16 GB of storage space to tinker with. Not only that, it is also equipped with a powerful 5-megapixel camera. It is also expandable up to 8GB with the support of a MicroSD card. It still runs on a Symbian S60 software platform, making it feel like old, considering the phone bugs down whenever you try to open too many applications all at once.

Overall the phone is perfect for every occasion. You can take it anywhere and performs your task with ease. Use it on the go to take videos, browse the net or even take pictures the Nokia N95 surely stands out.

The Pen is Mightier than the Sword

a

Well if taking down notes is really you’re thing, then this is the pen for you. Writing down notes and scribbling your way around chunks of notebooks may be a serious task but once you tried Logitech’s new IO2 pen, writing will never be the same again. Based on the same Anoto technology used by Nokia and Sony Ericsson this little whooper still packs the same as those found in mobile phones. The down side of this pen is that you have to use it on a special digital paper develop by Anoto. It may be disappointing news to some but the quality of the notes is excellent that even the tiniest move of your hand is captured with accuracy.

With the use of the special paper supplied by Anoto, instructions are clearly stated in the boxes that give you instruction on what to do when you finish writing with your digital pen. For example, on thejotter pad, there’s an instruction there stating, to line at the bottom. If you fill this up with your email address it will box marked as email. Your note will automatically be sent to your email application after you dock the pen.

Logitech also included a built in handwriting recognition software that helps user to recognize even the childish of our handwritings. We opted to do a little bit of training but we never thought that it would recognize our gibberish handwriting but in fact it did played out well without the hassle of training it all.

All in all, the Logitech I02 was superb. At first we were skeptical about how it would perform but in the end it dominated with flying colors. The very great thing about this pen is the impressive handwriting recognition that made us jump out from our seats.
