At first glance you might consider the Samsung W880 as a digital camera but in fact its both a digital camera and a phone. In fact the Samsung W880 is the first of its kind to deliver 12 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom. It features a hardware Mode dial and a real zoom lever very much the same found in most digital cameras. With this in mind you might find it hard to believe that it does feel like a real camera and not mobile phone.

Still in its prototype phase I take focus on the camera and its monstrous imaging capability.

The Samsung W880 has high end imaging capability, with tracking touch autofocus at 720p@30fps video recording and also has a 3.3” big AMOLDED capacitive touchscreen with WVGA resolution. Its not that something you see in your day to day activites with a phone with ton loads of features like this one.

In terms of design and construction the Samsung W880 looks like a digital camera than a mobile phone itself. Its the first of its kind to crossbreed a true digital camera and a phone. With its protruding lens, rubbery grip, and rotating mode dial the Samsung W880 separate itself from the rest.

The front panel itself is shrouded with a 3.3-inch touchscreen of WVGA resolution, above the display lies the video call camera with light sensor and finally it is coupled with two stereo loudspeakers. The back of the Samsung W880 is the one that surely separates from the rest. With the protruding lens found at the back it surely is one monstrous camaera phone. It has Xenon flash and a regular LED for capturing those precious moments in video.

Still in its prototype phase the Samsung W880 is impressive indeed. Without a doubt when this phone will be released it would be a huge success and would likely get world wide attention.
