Apple iPad tablet

APTOPIX Apple

Today at san Francisco Apple will release to the market their newly unveiled prized possession: tablet-style iPad. Their newest pride will start selling $499.

The seems like a larger version of an iPhone, about six times an iPhone‘s size. Apple will be selling a few iPad models equipped and hooked up with data plans from no other than AT&T. And with no bondage or contract required.

Apple Inc. challenge now is to convince the market and its consumers, most of their target market already have Internet-connected phones, computers and TVs, that they will find worth and will be willing to pay the amount for a device such as an iPad, when there are a lot of handy, lightweight notebooks and “netbooks” that costs lesser.

There rebuttal is that iPad is better for reading books, playing games, and enjoying movies, as mentioned by CEO Steve Jobs. The iPad offers better visual display than either a laptop or a smart phone.

The initial price is expected to drop. The first iPhone sold by Apple was for $599 but it went all the way down to $399 in just a few months, which were of course not good to hear for early buyers.

The Brilliance of the iPhone

1

When Apple first announced the iPhone, hype was immediately created for the new product. One of the most successfully-marketed pieces of technology to have ever been released by a company, the iPhone was said to be the ultimate mobile phone that combined functionality with as user-friendly interface via touch screen and accelerometer. It is not just a phone, but a complete personal communication, organizer, and entertainment system.

Attracting users from all ages, the iPhone has such user-friendly interactivity that even a toddler can learn how to use it somehow. However, the last thing that you would buy an iPhone for is for calls. Sure, it functions great for phone calls and text messages, but you buy an iPhone for the additional features. The ability to browse the web with its full HTML support, letting you check email and do other things online without having to scream for a laptop.

But the greatest thing about the iPhone is the support for custom applications, which can be downloading from the Apple Store. Several applications played with the incredible touch screen, accelerometer, and wireless capabilities, letting users do a lot of mind-boggling things. This then paved the way to some incredible applications and even full-on games that made the iPhone the top-of-the-line gadget you can ever own.

It is a phone, instant messenger, media player, mobile Internet browser, handheld gaming system, GPS, and so much more in one little gadget. Having spawned three incarnations of the iPhone, Apple definitely hit another home run with this product.

Rinspeed, a Swiss automobile maker company known for non-conventional designs strikes another one. This time, it’s a design concept of an automobile that can be virtually controlled through a iPhone.

iChange is a design concept that surpasses many automobile concepts. The automobile world is simply taken aback with Rinspeed quick revolution towards the use of iPhone as car controller. People who have the tendency to forget their car keys often but not their iPhone would benefit a lot with iChange. Forgetting, or even losing your car keys won’t be a problem since iChange’s vehicle functions can be controlled by the instructions given through the iPhone. Simply plug it into the dashboard and control everything from there.
With iChange’s no-key ignition feature, driving would start by clipping the Apple device onto the dash. After that, a green start button would appear on the iPhone’s display, simply touch that button and iChange would go and hit the road. Other vehicle controls such as headlights can be handled through iPhone too.
If put into production, Rinspeed’s iChange can be used either as sports car or family car. The rear end of the vehicle is installed with a panel with two hidden extra seats. A button somewhere in the dashboard just needs to be pressed to pop the panel up for the rear seats to unfold and accommodate extra passengers.
Believe it or not, Rinspeed’s iChange is actually an economical and environmental-friendly car. iChange is a lightweight vehicle weighing 2, 314 pounds only. Because of that, fuel consumption is lesser. Also, the car is powered by an electric motor. As for the air conditioning system of the car, no extra fuel is needed because the car boasts solar paneling which can generate enough electricity for the cooling process.

Without any smear of doubt, iChange’s concept is really amazing. Let’s wait until this becomes an actual car and see how easy it would be to drive by pressing iPhone’s buttons.

Price cuts on Apple Technology

A lot of people have fallen in love with the clean, sterile look that mac gadgets have to offer. From the ipod to the mac book, the bitten apple has become most iconic. But with the economy today, people losing jobs and even homes, buying this stuff has become a luxury. That is probably the reason why people at Apple decided to slash some prices on their most sought after devices in half. The iphone 3g that was once almost $200 is now only $99. This comes to no surprise as Apple has launched the new iphone 3g S that has better features than the former. It boosts of a longer battery life, video recording with editing, a 3 mega pixel camera with auto focus, voice control, compass, 30 hours of audio play back and 10 hours of video. The 16 gb version is at $199 while the 32 gb is at $299. Although a lot of people currently in contract with apple are enraged with this sudden price cut, Steve Jobs Apple CEO is now in talks of giving customers who bought their iphone from Apple or AT & T without rebate a hundred dollar store credit. According to Jobs, the technology lane is bumpy and there will always be some people who buy a gadget just before the cut off date. He says that he is doing this to be able to have more customers just in time for the holidays whilst still taking care of the old customers they already have. Perhaps this comes surprising as this is the very first time Apple has lowered prices this much. But since times are getting hard, it’s just rational for a business to keep things afloat by unexpected mark downs. Along with the iphone, a couple of mac books have also received some price cuts. The itouch though has not received any discount. Apple has said that even though customers have felt let down by this sudden move, they are still keeping high hopes in providing the best service that is expected of them.
