The Panasonic Lumix GF1 was initially released back in September of 2009 and for owners who want more from this camera, here is a tweak that allows you to capture videos via 1080p. Thanks to some coders, a reworked version of the camera’s firmware has upped the bitrates add added 4.2.2. color sampling which should be great news for Panasonic GF1 shooters.
Not only that, GF1 micro four thirds camera owners get full manual control and 24P/25P shooting options from the firmware hack as well. Of course the hack may be a bit risky but seeing that people have the option of either using it or not will eventually be left up to them in the end.
The unofficial firmware upgrade does sound need and while nothing negative was shared, it is still risky. Then again, knowing how people love to arouse their curiosity and try out improvements which really leaves them with nothing to lose, they can always head on over to a Panasonic service center to save the day.
Would you dare risk trying out this hack? Well if you are dying to see some improvements as far as video capturing quality is concerned, by all means go for it!
