PSP Go

As one of the leading innovators of technology, Sony finally decided to take their portable gaming console to a new level. Said to be launched in October this year, the latest evolution of the Sony PSP will be called as the PSP Go. It will sport a 3.8 inch display (but the resolution of it is still undisclosed). Even though it looks heavy, it is said to weigh about 43 % lighter than the PSP 3000. It will allow a 16 gb flash storage with built in Bluetooth that supports handset tethering and BT headsets which can enable one to even use skype to chat with friends even on the go. There is no UMD drive but a memory stick slot is provided. It will also have a full play station network support for movies, tv show rentals and other purchases (but all this still depend on the down load speeds). Just like the PSP 3000, it can also be integrated with the play station3. But the most obvious change this PSP went through is that now, it has an easy – slide panel unlike other PSP’s before. Available in two colors: piano black and pearl white, it will also feature a game sleep function that will allow the user to activate the XrossMediaBar while game playing is temporarily suspended. Deemed as the smallest yet mightiest PSP system yet, it will retail around $ 250. Some say it’s ugly, while others claim it’s a must have. But for sure when the fall of 2009 arrives, a lot of people will line up just to get a chance to be one of the first few to own a product like this. Definitely something to look forward to in the coming months, let’s just wait and see how great of a contender this PSP Go will be compared to other PSP products and of course to other game console brands.

At $250 it’s a bit steep especially that it’s smaller screen than the original PSP…but me drools over the white one!!
