A lot of people are taken with Apple’s iPhone 3G and iPod touch. Technological advancement and commercial appeal are two of the main reasons for this. However, for creative graphic designers, the various iPhone-based applications are the real catch.

Without any doubt, there are lots and lots of applications intended for iPhone 3G and iPod touch. Many are already in store and and more are still coming up. Among these apps, a number of helpful tools are available for graphic designers. With this particular app, you can get sample colors from websites, from your iPhone photo album images and other color schemes present in your phone. Another color-based app is the Color Expert. This application provides a swatch library and an interactive color wheel for an easier selection and identification of colors. It has web-safe and HTML colors and different Pantone swatches. You can also add custom colors and email Adobe Swatch Exchange files with the Color Expert app.

You read it right, a wireless controller, a wood and well-crafted one. Logitech’s controller features authentic materials and just like their other guitar controllers for PS2 and PS3, there is the wood neck, rosewood fingerboard and metal frets and tuning peg handles. Zynga Set to Grow with FarmVille

With this exciting new offering, Zynga brings its leading social game design to the broadest mix of Facebook users yet. FarmVille allows players to build and customize their farm from the very beginnings, plowing the land, and choosing what they want to grow from a large variety of crops such as strawberries, eggplant, wheat and soybeans. The farm is then theirs to cultivate how they choose. Players will also have options to purchase farm animals such as pigs and cows, and compliment your crops with other farm assets such as barns, windmills and greenhouses.

Nurturing the farm is the key to success for players and their network of fellow farmer friends: those who tend their crops diligently will see their farms flourish and their bank accounts swell. Players’ friends are a key element of success in FarmVille.

Google and Adobe give Web developers great news

Google gave out a great news for all web developers out there. If before, flash files could not be indexed in search engines, now Google is working to be able to read flash files and extract text and links from them for better indexing and ranking.
The inability of search engines to index Flash files is a problem for web developers who are trying to optimize exposure. All that is changing now according to Google and Adobe. Google is now working on what they call a “deep algorithmic change” which will enable them to crawl and index text links from Flash files. This is supported by Adobe’s Flash reader technology.
Google has actually been trying to crawl and index Flash and JavaScript for some time and they have been able to do it for a while already. The thing is, the method they have been using was not very accurate. This is where Adobe comes in. Adobe’s new technology makes the process of indexing these kinds of files easier and more accurate. Also, it will let Google access rich contents of any version of Flash presented in different languages.
According to Adobe, they have created a more improved Flash player for search engines such as Google and Yahoo. Though Yahoo has not utilized this new technology yet, Yahoo says that they support the project and they are looking for the best possible way of implementing it.

How big the change and improvement will be, that we don’t know. We have to wait and see until it takes place. The sure thing is, it is a great change for the web. It shows that search engines, which serve as the primary means of navigation around the web, are also moving beyond text to take into newer web technologies. It is good to see search engine technology evolve into a more modern web.

WPC-500F, a Waterproof Fanless Computer from Stealth

Stealth’s latest is WPC-500F, a computer model which can stand and perform in harsh environments like no ordinary computer hardware can handle.
WPC-500F is a waterproof, small-footprint fanless computer that can withstand liquids, chemicals, dust and all dirt intrusions. It is a watertight PC, completely sealed on all six sides, that meets the IP67/NEMA 6 environmental specifications.You may be wondering how the internal CPU is cooled without cooling fans, Stealth worked it out by using an advanced heat pipe technology. The computer’s aluminum chassis serves as a heat sink where internal heat is dissipated without giving out any kind of noise.

Power, video, serial and USB connections are featured with watertight, locking bayonet style connectors just like those of military designed hardware. WPC-500F also uses special high performance hard drives that are able to put up with conditions such as extreme temperatures, high humidity, high vibration and high altitudes. An optional Solid State Hard Drive is available for applications that require higher shock and vibration resistance.
Intel’s latest Atom processor technology is used in the system. Despite its small package, measuring only 7.51 x 11.37 x 2.97 inches, maximum performance and efficiency is ensured. To allow easy mounting of the PC on control panels, walls and consoles, a special mounting bracket is included.
