LG Crystal Mobile Phone
From a practical device to a fashion statement, mobile phones have gone through the different phases that push the limits of their design and use. Lg, one of the leading technological innovators now claim to have created the world’s first crystal slider phone. The Lg GD900 Crystal looks more of a dummy phone than a real working mobile. It has 3 inches of touch screen capability and a transparent key pad (which is also touch sensitive) that lights up a bright blue color when opened. Both the screen and the keypad include multi touch that allows one to zoom in and out of a photo or a map using any of the two screens. Having 2 touch screens is not exaggerated in this case as it can assist you in having options between choosing between menus. If touch screen is not your thing, you have the option to use the keypad normally. It has a vibrating feedback that tells you that you have hit the button. The gimmick is more of the selling point of this phone. Its design is beautiful and really admirable. You can see through the crystal keypad and what mobile phone can do that? The handwriting recognition is very accurate and responsive compared to other touch screen mobiles sold in the market. For a mobile that is only 13.4mm thick, its amazing that they have managed to jam pack it with an 8 mega pixel camera with an expandable memory, wi fi capability and HSDPA for speedy online surfing. The material for the crystal part of the phone is still under wraps. It is still undecided whether tempered glass or hard plastic will be used for the translucent slider but whichever they choose, it’s still worth the hype. This phone is expected to be available in stores in the third quarter of 2009.
