Windows 7 Features That Should Be For Everybody

Microsoft announces release of Windows 7 Demo
The release of Microsoft’s new OS Windows 7 is being eagerly anticipated by tech nuts all over the world. The Windows 7 Ultimate demo version showed promise. However, there are some pretty cool features in the demo version that normal users won’t get unless you avail of the Ultimate version for home users or the Enterprise version for business users. Some “lost” features in the Home version are unneeded but a few of these features would have been useful for just about anybody. Below are some of the features that should have been made available to everybody:
Virtual XP. This Windows 7 feature allows users to use Windows XP applications in a Windows 7 setting without using illegal software. Microsoft believes its intended for business users however, it could be pretty handy for non-business users as well. Virtual XP could allow users to play Windows XP games that higher operating systems won’t run and also to view sites on both IE6 and IE8.
BitLocker. This disk encryption feature enables users to keep information private if ever a disk or USB drive gets lost. However, the feature is only made available in the Ultimate and Enterprise versions. BitLocker should be made available in every Windows 7 version because not only government departments, big enterprises and security services face the threat of identity theft.
Multi-language support. This Windows 7 language feature allows users to switch Windows into different languages. This feature would have proven handy to professionals working abroad and a huge chunk of frequent travellers who are not multilingual. Sadly, this language feature only works in Ultimate and Enterprise.
VHD Booting. Windows 7 Ultimate can boot directly from a VHD without the hassle of any installation process. However, VHD booting could be a critical feature to any user in case of the emergencies like a hard drive crash.
DirectAccess. This Windows 7 Ultimate feature allows users to view files using a remote connection that’s easy to setup (unlike the technology in most routers.) Anybody who owns a laptop and wants to access their files in their desktop when they are not at home would have found this feature useful.
