How to Deal with Distracting Backgrounds

  1. Check your Background before Hitting the Shutter Release

Mistakes in photographs can be easily avoided by simply checking first on the background before actually taking a shot and other actions. Before the shots, see to it that you have checked thoroughly the background for distracting parts like colors that don’t match with the rest of the image, people and objects that may not belong to the whole picture, and more.

  1. Change your Shooting Angle

If ever you see some distracting elements in the background and you really cant opt to moving the subject, another strategy to use will be the changing of the angle to shoot from.

  1. Place Subjects In front of Open Spaces

If you place your subject on a long way in front of other things, it will make those objects more blurry. So if you want to take shots with blurry backgrounds, you can always shoot your subjects in areas with an open space.

  1. Make your Own Background

If you really cant find the right background for your shot, then you can always make your own. A simple cloth might just do the job, or by building a studio background you could improvise your own.

  1. Post Processing

With many photo editing soft wares around, you can always process those images in order to get rid of unwanted portions or elements in the shots.
