Samsung and LG are great rivals here and abroad. That is why after learning about the latest product of Samsung, LG has then come up with their version of an eco friendly mobile phone inspired from the Samsung Blue Earth cell phone which is powered by solar energy.
Although it is patterned from Samsung’s Blue Earth, it is not as green as Samsung’s. LG’s solar phone will not be primarily made from recycled materials, although its user manual is made from soy ink on recycled paper. The solar panel is embedded on the cover of its battery for convenience when harnessing solar energy. An exposure of 10 minutes to the sunlight will provide the user 3 minutes of talk time. It is able to recharge itself without the need to plug it. The idea of placing the solar panel at the back cover was made for the purpose of having any existing LG phone model make use and avail of this solar energy. They could just possibly replace the back cover of their old mobile phones with a back cover equipped with a solar panel.
Samsung’s solar powered phone is basically part of the company’s commitment in the creation of a healthier and greener environment for all the people. The unnamed mobile phone is set to debut before the year ends. There has been no price set for the product, but it will surely be a hit especially to those users who are environment friendly.
