Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 Impresses With Gorgeous Touchscreen
There is probably a long list somewhere of phones that were designed to kill the iPhone. Sony Ericsson’s interpretation of this challenge comes in the form of the Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1. With their long experience of making good, solid phones, the Xperia X1 may just be what the company is looking for to knock over Apple. Just one look at the phone and you know it is downright beautiful and gorgeous.

The touch screen phone measures only 2.1 x 4.4 x 0.7 inches (WxHxD), so it is quite small for a phone that has a slide-out keyboard. It runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and has a 3-inch screen that can support 65,536 colors at an 800×480 pixel resolution. The display is an absolute beauty to look at and the images and text were quite crisp and clear.
The features of the phone include 3G and integrated Wi-Fi. You can surf the internet through Opera Mobile Web Browser or through the Internet Explorer Mobile. If you are not sure if the phone will support your carrier, make sure they support either 850/1900/2100 UMTS/HSDPA. Aside from being a phone, the Xperia X1 can be a multimedia machine. It can play a lot of audio formats, and comes with a standard headphone jack which is really nice. The 3.2 Megapixel camera does not hurt either, and shoots great pictures.
With all of its multimedia features, the phone can be a little slow, sluggish if you will. Certain tasks within the phone took about twenty to thirty seconds. And although the phone can be bought open line (you get to choose your own carrier), the phone is a little pricey. But if you are not an iPhone believer and money is no issue, then Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 is one great phone.
