New Panasonic Plasma TVs Announced at CES 2009
Anything that a tech-savvy person could ever want is presented at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show or CES. Software, PCs, notebooks, iPod, its accessories, iPod docks, mobile phones and lots of other gadgets are displayed and of course, Plasma TVs won’t miss the parade.
Just like in last year’s CES, Panasonic brought a lot to the table this year too. Announcements for new models were made and it seems that we will be flooded with new LCD models of varying sizes. Panasonic Z1 series, G10 series, V10 series, S1 and X1 series make up the largest plasma lineup in history and all these are set to be launched this 2009.
Featuring a 37 inch Panasonic TC – L37G1 with 1080p LCD panel and a 720p Panasonic TC-L32G1 is the G10 series. Both models have 120Hz motion picture Pro3 technology intended to deliver sharp images on fast motion scenes and specifications include a 20,000:1 contrast ratio, a viewing angle of 178 degree, 3 HDMI inputs, SD card reader and a swivel base.

32-inch TC-L32S1 and 37-inch TC-L37S1 are the two models under the Viera S1 series. The LCDs have an IPS Alpha panel, a Viera Image viewer and make use of Motion Focus technology. PC inputs and Game modes are included while the HD resolution is the same with the G1 series. Another added feature of these HDTVs that everybody will surely love, according to Panasonic, is that power consumption can be cut in half. Shipping of this series will be on March, a month ahead G10.
The flag bearer when it comes to size is the Z1 series topped by 54-inch Panasonic TC54Z1 which features wireless HD connectivity, Viera CAST, bright images with good contrast as well as playback AVCGD videos via SD memory cards.
The X1 series which will be coming out on March and August is added with an iPod entertainment kit for engaging in music watching the videos on the screen while the V10 series has four sizes with 50 inches as the smallest and 65 inches as the widest.
It’s hard enough already to get away from the TiVo but with plasmas like these; it’s going to be a tough call between recreation and self-control.
